Aside from being an advocate, Ruth Krüger is a sustainability scientist. She has spent time doing empirical research among people who successfully made a land claim in the Northern Cape, others living next to a large hydroelectric dam in the DRC, and yet others who live next to a coal-fired power plant in Mpumalanga.

In her practice, she seeks to explore the intersection between law, justice and sustainability. She has a keen interest in constitutional and administrative law, and clerked for Justice Majiedt at the Constitutional Court in 2021. However, she also enjoys working on commercial matters.
