About

Nasreen Rajab-Budlender SC was admitted as an advocate in 2000 and joined the Bar in 2005. Prior to joining the Bar, she worked at a large Johannesburg law firm. She was also a law clerk to Chief Justice Arthur Chaskalson at the Constitutional Court and a researcher for the Judicial Services Commission.

Nasreen's primary areas of practice include Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Commercial Litigation and Environmental Law. Nasreen has frequently acted as a judge of the High Court and as a judge of the Land Claims Court.

Nasreen is the Chairperson of the Appeals Committee of the Advertising Regulatory Board. She is also a panellist with the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) and she regularly acts an arbitrator and chairs disciplinary hearings. Nasreen has a keen interest in the application of the Constitution to eradicate all forms of discrimination, particularly gender discrimination, and has argued cases ranging from the rights of pregnant learners to attend school to the rights of fathers to benefit from equal parental leave.

She is a former Chairperson and founding member of PABASA. Nasreen sits on various Educational and Commercial Boards.
